How to apply False Eyelashes

Since I have been obsessing about False Eyelases again recently I figured that mabye I should share the "how to" for those of you who are frustrated over application. It takes a litte bit of practice and getting used to...but anyone can do it. Here's How:

1. Check the length of the eyelash strip to see if it is the correct length for your eye. If they are too long they will be uncomfortable. You can trim them to make them fit properly. I usually trim from the inside edge. Do it one lash at a time until the strip is the proper length for your eye.

2. Apply Glue. How you do this will make a difference in your false eyelash experience. The easiest way to do this for me is this: first I apply a small dot of glue to the back of my hand. Then I carefully run the edge of the lash strip across it lightly. This will leave a thin coat right on the strip. Wait for a few seconds for it to tack up before applying to your eye. (side note..glue comes in white and black)

3. After the glue has tacked up for a second gently grab them with tweezers and apply as close to your lash line as you can. press them down from end to end and down towards your natural lashes. If they are not sticking, your glue is either too wet, too dry or it just sucks. You can usually tell which.

4. Fill in any spaces between your lashes with eyeliner! ( how much will depend on how well you apply..I use black glue to save myself from some of this and also no messing with bits of white glue )

You can also use mascara as usual while you press lightly against the lashes from behind. sometimes this helps them blend and stick. However I never do this with my fancy eyelashes.

Summer Beauty & Deals ~ Covergirl LashBlast Mascara

So I was at CVS the other day and they had Covergirls LashBlast Mascara Buy on Get one FREE. Then on top of that I had a coupon from the newspaper for buy one LashBlast get a free Eye Enhancers. I couldn't resist. So I bought my one LashBlast and got a free Waterproof LashBlast and a free Blast Eye Enhancers in Firecracker. $8.50 bought me 3 new products...definately a deal for the week! So I excitedly hurry home to try out my new goodies.
Porduct #1- Blast Eye Enhancers in Firecracker. Shades went on nicely. Blended well and perfectly complimented one another. Not to extreme, not to faint either. A nice medium amount of pigment on this pallete. The green color was a little more yellow than I expected but it was still a nice shade. I used the green right along the upper lashline like eyeliner then the pink over the lid and crease area and used the white to highlight. Very cute, kinda spring with a touch of barbie...lol.
Product #2- LashBlast Mascara. Went on like a DREAM!!! This stuff was really great. One of the best I have used so far. I was a little concerned at first because I noticed the mascara globbing at the end of the wand(which is flat at the very end instead of tapered to a complete point) But even though I did not scrape off the extra mascara as I typically do, this stuff went on totally clump free, even after several coats! It looked amazing. Lashes looked very long and defined. Now I am pretty certain those are fake lashes in all the ads with plenty of photo edits. However, this stuff does a pretty close job, and I am sure with a bit of effort I could get my lashes to look like that ad. Definately 5 stars in my summer beauty bag. I haven't tried the waterproof yet to see if it works as well. But I will update you when I have.
